You may have seen or heard in the media recently that Utah-based Brooksee LLC has been selected by the city to put on the Portland Marathon in 2019 and beyond. Brooksee has recruited Portland Running Company owners Dave and Paula Harkin to help plan the 2019 event.
"Please know that Paula and Dave Harkin will be with us every step of the way as we transition into race management," wrote Brooksee CEO Jared Rohatinsky in an open letter to Portland.
"I've given Paula permission to set me straight if we ever attempt to do anything un-Portlandish," continued Rohatinsky. "We're honored to have Paula on our team and plan to rely heavily on her to make sure we do things right from a local perspective."
