This July, we invite you to be part of something that is more than a race. The inaugural PDX Recovers 5K, hosted by Union Gospel Mission at the Portland waterfront on July 11, is an opportunity for our entire community to come together—not just to run or walk, but to support healing and restoration across our city.
In a place known as Bridge City, this event is about building meaningful connections: individuals, families, businesses, and neighborhoods united in hope and action. Portland continues to face real challenges. Addiction and homelessness are impacting lives throughout our community. Lasting change doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens when people come together with shared purpose.
This event is a chance to raise awareness, strengthen community, and stand alongside those working to rebuild their lives. There are many ways to participate: volunteer, donate, fundraise, or come to cheer on participants. Every role contributes to something bigger.
We’re inviting you to help grow this event from the ground up and be part of a collective effort to bring hope and change to our city. Let’s build something meaningful together.
Portland Running Company is proud to have partnered for many years with Union Gospel Mission. PRC has led run clubs for recovery residents, donated many pairs of shoes for the men and women in the LifeChange recovery programs, and provided guidance as they host their first ever 5K.
